BLASTRAM.PRG APRIL 88
Blastram was written specifically
for use with the PEARLES ray tracing
prog. to animate the frames produced
to create animated movies, but may be
used to load any neocrome or degas
format picture, in order to create an
animated sequence. Blastram may be
used in any resolution.
Each picture is loaded into a
frame, up to 27 may be loaded on a
one meg. ST. The frame into which the
next picture will be loaded is called
the grab frame. The grab frame may be
chosen using the menu SET to increase
and decrease the number of the grab
frame.
To load any single frame use the
FILE menu to load neocrome, degas or
user specified formats.
Whole sequences of frames may be
loaded provided they are in the form
ABCDExxx.NEO or .PI* or .??? where
ABCDE is any five figure name and the
xxx is any number from 000 to 999.
To load a sequence first select SET
START/END in the SET menu to specify
the start and end numbers of the
sequence, then select FAST LOAD in
the FILE menu and choose the format.
Then type in the name, up to 5 fig.
The whole series will then be loaded
automatically.
When your frames are loaded, by
whatever means, use SET START/END in
the SET menu to set the start and
end frames to be animated.
The pause between each frame, in
fiftieths of a second, may be set by
selecting SET PAUSE in the SET menu.
The loop status may be set to loop
or repeat by clicking on LOOP or
REPEAT in the OPTIONS menu. When
using LOOP the sequence will be shown
from start to end then backwards from
end to start, then from start to end..
When using REPEAT the frames will be
shown from start to end, then start
to end again and again.
Clicking on ANIMATE in the OPTIONS
menu will animate your frames between
the frames specified, at the speed
specified, and with the chosen loop
status.
Clicking on SYNC in the OPTIONS
menu toggles the screen
synchronization, if on the program
will halt until the screen is updated
before showing the next frame.
If the colour pallet of the pictures
has rendered the text unreadable you
may press (R) or click on RESET COLOURS
in the SET menu to reset the ink and
paper colours, allowing you to read the
text.
Selecting RESET ALL will clear all
frames and variables to default.
To set the user defined picture
format select SET USER PIC in the
SET menu. First input the offset
in bytes of the picture information
from the start of the file, then
input the offset in bytes of the
colour information from the start
of the file.
